Photography

The conception of beauty as the “radiance of truth, splendor veritatis” is the starting point of my photography. Irrespective of the complexity of the subject matter, I endeavour always to intensify the compositional aspects of colour in my creations and to dissolve the caracter of the entity of the subject. In my works I seek out the moments of beauty in everyday life, and the dream-like aspects of the world that surrounds us.

My interest is in the possibilities offered by the camera itself for creating a sense of estrangement from the image. I work with a Rollei 35 that I have had since I was 12, and with several digital cameras. The images I create are either double exposed, or photos that are defamiliarised through movement. They are not cut or retouched. The focus is on the moment of exposure, and the inviolability of the image created in that moment.
